资源与环境工程学院培养掌握地球的资源形成、勘查、开发专业知识和掌握各种建设工程的勘察、设计、施工以及环境污染防治技术的原理和方法、环境监测、评价、规划与管理等专业知识技能的高素质应用型人才。目前学院有资源勘查工程、环境工程、地质工程3个本科专业。学院现有学生862人。
学院“矿产普查与勘探”获批贵州省重点支持学科和校级重点学科，是我校第一个省级重点支持学科；获批“地质资源与地质工程”省级重点学科；资源勘查工程教师团队获批全国高校黄大年式教师团队；环境工程专业获批国家“双万计划”省级一流本科专业建设点。学院现拥有2个贵州省教育厅创新人才团队——“隐伏矿床勘测科技创新团队”以及“贵金属原位调控与生态修复创新团队”。
学院重视科学及教学研究工作，积极以科学研究成果服务于地方经济，以科学研究提高专业素质，以科学研究反辅教学；积极开展教学研究与改革实践，促进人才培养质量的提高。近年来科研项目立项58项，其中国家级立项15项，省部级立项43项，教育部产学合作协同育人项目3项，省级教改10项；获省部级科技进步奖2项。
资源与环境工程学院师资雄厚，教师52人，教授（研究员）6人，副教授（高工）33人，讲师（工程师）10人，其他3人；博士36人，硕士13人，学士3人。“双师型”教师14人，形成了职称、年龄、学历、学缘结构合理的教师队伍结构配置。
目前学院建有资源勘查工程实验室（含岩土工程实验室）和环境工程实验室，教学、科研实验仪器设备完善；资源勘查工程实验室和环境工程实验室面向学生，全面开放。
资源与勘查工程专业
培养目标：本专业培养德、智、体、美、劳全面发展的社会主义建设者和接班人，掌握矿产资源勘查、矿山开发与矿山环境恢复治理、旅游地质资源开发、地质灾害防治所需要的矿产及工程相关的基础理论、技能和基本知识，通过资源勘查与工程地质项目研究与实践训练，具备在建筑、水利、交通、市政、铁路、防灾、环保、国土、矿产资源勘查与开发等领域进行矿产资源勘查、矿山开发与矿山环境恢复治理、工程勘察、地质灾害评价与治理工作的能力，成为能胜任资源、环境、灾害、地质工程领域工作的高素质应用型人才。
主要课程：岩石学、古生物地层学、构造地质学、矿床学、矿产资源勘查学、遥感地质学、地球物理勘探、钻井工程、地质灾害评价等。
就业面向：本专业毕业生可在企事业单位、科研院所、自然资源部门及国外从事矿产资源勘查、矿山开发与管理、矿产资源综合利用、地质灾害防治、地质环境恢复治理、温泉地热开发、钻探施工、岩土工程勘察等工作。
修业年限：四年

环境工程专业
培养目标：本专业培养德、智、体、美、劳等方面全面发展，掌握环境工程所需要的数学与自然科学类、工程基础类等相关学科的基础理论和水污染控制工程、大气污染控制工程、环境规划与管理等的基本理论知识，通过对环境保护等行业的项目研究与实践训练，具备污染控制工程的设计及运营管理、制定环境规划和进行环境管理的能力，可在环境保护等行业企业从事规划、设计、管理、教育和研究等工作的环境工程领域的高素质应用型人才。
主要课程：环境工程微生物学、环境工程原理、水污染控制工程、大气污染控制工程、固体废物处理与处置、物理性污染控制、环境规划与管理、环境影响评价、环境监测、土壤修复技术方法与应用、环境工程施工技术、给排水工程。
就业方向：本专业毕业生可在政府部门、规划部门、经济管理部门、环保部门、设计单位、工矿企业、科研单位、学校等单位从事与环境相关的规划、设计、管理、教育和研究开发工作。
修业年限：四年

地质工程专业
培养目标：本专业培养德、智、体、美、劳等方面全面发展，系统掌握地质工程方面的基本理论、基本方法和基本技能，具有扎实的专业知识、良好的专业技能，具有较强分析、解决问题的能力和工程实践能力。接受相关的地质工程训练，能在城镇建设、土木水利、能源交通、资源开发、国土防灾等领域从事勘察、设计、施工、管理单位，从事工程地质勘察、地质灾害防治与地质环境保护、地质工程设计与施工、资源勘探与采掘、岩土钻掘与工程监理等工作，成为地质工程领域的高素质应用型人才。
主要课程：高等数学、工程数学、测量学、构造地质学、土力学、岩体力学、工程岩土学、岩土工程勘察、岩土工程测试技术、地基处理、岩土支挡与锚固技术、地质灾害防治、工程地质分析原理。
就业方向：本专业毕业生就业广泛，可在建筑、水利、交通、市政、铁路、防灾、环保、国土、地矿等部门工作。
修业年限：四年

The college of Resources and Environmental Engineering of Guizhou Institute of Technology was established to meet a polytechnic institute focused on engineering to invigorate Guizhou Province's industry and urbanization proposed by the Guizhou Government.
