【@Colourful Guizhou in English：A Great Place to be—Getu River】

I’m Wei Qianqian, a first year university student from School of Foreign Languages, Guizhou Institute of Technology.TodayI'd liketo share with youanatural attraction named Getu Riverin my hometown, Anshun, Guizhou Province.

There are three major areas I will focus on: how a long history of Miao culture remains in Getu River, why the magical light in Getu River has shared its symbolic significance of fortune, and how the recent news of rock climbing in Getu River looks like?

We know very well about the fact to begin with that Miao people have been celebrating a long history of their Miao culture for long ages. There are various groups of Miao people living in southwest region of China as we well know. There is a magical name Getu symbolizing holy land in Miao language. Being a nature wonder, Getu river is winning its remarkable reputation for its intangible heritage of Miao culture’s village. For thousands of years, the Miao people have been living here where they guard their land with their industrious hands and wisdom, live their cosy and satisfying life.

Abrief overview of magical light in Getu River will be introduced. When it comes to one of the fascinating nature wonders in Getu River, it is worth mentioning the beautiful natural phenomenon named the light of god owing to its fine weather generally appearing at eight o 'clock in the morning of summer. Due to the restriction on angle and weather, it is so difficult to encounter this magical light that the local Miao people call this light as the light of god from heaven. If you are lucky enough to encounter this light, you will become one of the luckiest persons all year around.

Most students are great fans of Spiderman in my opinion but one thing I'd like to double check is that have you actually seen a real one? This time, I might as well offer you my answer. ‘Spiderman’ in In Getu River is taken as a dancer on rock wall.

These rock walls are usually 108 metres high, slippery all year around meanwhile, ‘Spiderman’ have hardly been provided with any safety measures to climb rock walls yet so far. In the past, ‘Spiderman’ in Getu River had to climb rock walls to collect their necessities for their daily life but now rock climbing by local Miao people offers a splendid show to tourists from other parts of China. There is one rumour I’ve ever heard that there are only seven people in Getu River rock climbing until now. What a pity it is to witness that there is a smaller number of local Miao people passing on this skill from one generation to another. Rock-climbing as a matter of consequence would die out as time goes by.

I do really prefer to share with you how I enjoy most about going to Getu River in the final phase. These uploaded photos on one of the last two PPT slides’ pages are about our journey to Getu River. Not only do my friends and I wear the local minority costumes, but we go by boat as well. The bamboo there is different from ordinary bamboo as it seems as thick as a tree.
